During my academic journey, it was taxing balancing family, work and classwork. Often times I found myself missing “life” and family vacations transitioned into sleep and writing periods. Simply put, I wasn’t “living.” Specializing in career and technology education, the demands of classes were constant in learning and engaging in a new emerging program. Despite the demands, there were two things I found myself (and other students) combating, a preceptor and numerous programs. It was exhausting locating someone to edit or review my work prior to submission and determining which program would befit a lesson plan. As I reached the All But Dissertation (ABD) phase, I found myself partnering with an alike-minded group of peers to assist in my writing. Of course, my advisor and committee staff members supported me; however, they had the demands of work and other students which delayed response time. Therefore, I started my own business to provide a service to upcoming scholars, Five Degrees Academic Consulting.

I am a multipotentialite. I have a passion for education and technology with a diverse background in business, finance, public administration, business and marketing education and career and technical education (Five Degrees). Throughout my journey of experiences, I have counseled undergraduate students in a range of coursework and course selections to improve their success. I have counseled graduate students in coursework to reduce the demands and stress of their academic journey.  I have served as a reviewer for an academic journal at a public university. 

 

I have trained and advocated for technology on multiple platforms. I have conducted a national webinar,  workshops and conferences on technology integration for K-12 educators. I have conducted software training courses and analyses ranging from Microsoft Office to Web 2.0 platforms. I have served as a software administrator for mobile applications and hosted virtual conferences.  I have worked in manufacturing, business, retail, and government industries to bring you a wealth of knowledge and experience.
