My Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is the ability to use one’s personality and learning styles to enforce learning objectives through an act of engagement, creativity, and passion while employing my own competence and character to facilitate a productive learning environment for students.   My philosophy of teaching asserts the importance of academics and hands-on experience with lecturing and student engagement implementing the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards.  My role involves using my expertise in academics and technology to become a resource of information available for students to learn, organize, and balance personal and work life.

The Learning Environment

An environment is more than a physical condition or surrounding. It can also be a feeling of security and familiarity that comforts a person. As education paradigms comprise student perception, teaching is becoming more of the ability to meet student needs. As an educator, it is our responsibility to evolve with our students by engaging, encouraging collaboration, providing feedback, and integrating practical simulations and technology. It is our responsibility to facilitate a unique learning environment that maximizes learning outcomes for all.

The Teaching

To facilitate the proper learning environment, one must understand what makes a student feel secure and comfortable. More importantly, why is a student in this class. Understanding we have become socially and technical beings, we have to incorporate a humanistic learning approach when planning for instruction. Our instruction has to be adapted to build rapport in a way that allows students to achieve their highest potential producing life-long goals and accomplishments.
